There is no doubt that our country and the world for that matter is looking for help, but are they looking in the right places? My knee jerk reaction is to say no. They should be seeking the Lord. However, the next thought that comes is Romans 8:7-8 which states; “because the mind set on the flesh is hostile toward God; for it does not subject itself to the law of God, for it is not even able to do so; and those who are in the flesh cannot please God.”
As Christians, Ordained Pastors and Ministers we must understand that the lost do not seek the Lord. The Lord seeks them and uses us as vessels to bring the good news. Romans 10:14 states; “How then shall they call upon Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him who they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher?” May I suggest that you are a preacher! Some of us preach on Sunday mornings while others “preach” the good news message through counseling sessions; hospital visits, prison visits, street evangelism, sitting at our dining room tables or over a cup of coffee. We have been entrusted with an awesome opportunity and responsibility to carry the good news of Jesus Christ to our generation.
Let’s seize the opportunity to present Christ as people are looking for answers to cultural issues, financial concerns and personal challenges. This may require us to step out of our comfort zones, break out of tradition and look for new ways to have influence in people’s lives.
It is also critically important that we not only present Christ, but disciple or train people in the ways of the Lord. This requires ongoing influence in people’s lives. The National Conservative Christian Church is committed to help all of our commissioned, licensed and ordained ministers achieve this. This blog is a step toward some exciting development towards an online community in which we can train, assist and spur one another on to love and good deeds.
Blessings,
Dr. David M. Smuin
General Secretary

Greetings in our Lord and Savior:
I fully agree with the above, and would like to add that for some of us (speaking for myself) it took time to realize that I was to some degree caught up in the tradition of my youth. In other words, and while the church on the corner is so valuable and needs to be encouraged to “press on,” and very importantly, “rightly handling the Word of God,” it is not the only medium for evangelization. Doing church is very much about relationships, and extended family relationships built on truth and trust. I pray daily for protection of myself and those in my care regarding the awesome responsibility entrusted to me by God and those hurting folks who seek the love of the God of creation Who restores His children through faith out of a Love sometimes beyond our own understanding.
All that said and as Dr. Dave has stated, “Some of us preach on Sunday mornings while others “preach” the good news message through counseling sessions; hospital visits, prison visits, street evangelism, sitting at our dining room tables or over a cup of coffee. Have a blessed Lord’s Day!
