Wedding Chaplain
Perhaps a minister enjoys, is proficient in premarital counseling and would be fulfilled by bringing couples together who love the Lord and who love each other. Premarital preparation is one of the most valuable ministries in our increasingly churchless society. This ministry is not a secular wedding officient, but rather a short-term pastor who enters the life of a man and a woman to assist in determining the compatibility, temperaments, belief systems, and worldviews of a couple considering marriage.
Like a mentor, the chaplain speaks truth into the lives of the couple and guides an equipping process in preparing them for the transition from being a single to being a double. Assuming that the man, woman and the wedding chaplain are in agreement, the chaplain then guides the planning of this memorable event, to be an occasion to remember for the rest of their lives. The key understanding of all of the players must be that the chaplain is God’s agent in this celebration. If not, he or she doesn’t belong there.
The National Conservative Christian Church will endorse and provide ordination, licensing or commissioning to adequately and properly trained candidates.
