Temple Maintenance Counseling    (MN-450)

The purpose of this course is to convey to ministers and counselors the significance of the over­lapping influence of the whole person, spirit, soul and body.  God's Word tells us that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own. For you have been bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body.  (1 Corinthians 6:19-20)

Jesus said: "Behold, the Kingdom of God is within you."  (Luke 17:21)

We are made in three parts: spirit, soul and body.  When one part of the body is sick or not in good maintenance, the whole body suffers.  If the Spirit of God resides within us, then who is responsible for the housekeeping and building (temple) maintenance?  We are!

Certainly we can call upon Jesus to heal us when we are injured, sick or afflicted. However, the primary responsibility for continuous well-being is proper and adequate care, feeding, lubricating, fueling and main­tenance of the temple.  That's your job and my job.

It is clearly possible for us to receive the miracle of His healing power to restore our body from an attack of the enemy, but we are not to rely upon supernatural healings for all of our on-going continuous health and wellness. That belief would appear to mean that we would live by miracle, after miracle, after mira­cle, daily for all of our lives.  Rather, God has created within us the mir­acle of healing and repair at the cellular level, as well as an immunity system, which is designed to resist or fight off viral attacks of the enemy, when that system is also maintained in a high effi­ciency mode.

By combining your training in spiritual things, as well as your specific education in pastoral counsel­ing, and this basic understanding of temple maintenance and healthy care of our bodies, you will be able to provide counsel to the whole person, who God made to be healthy and efficient. You will be able to direct people to and even provide nutritional supplements for a person's restoring and rejuvenating at their cellu­lar level, for long life comfort and happiness.

The Bible tells us in Isaiah 65:20 that the current human life expectancy is 100 years and any­thing short of that is caused by a curse in one's life.  By the end of this course you will be able to clearly identi­fy those curses and directly help people be set free from life-shortening comfort robbing behavioral habits. This is truly the work of ministry: to be God's agent for truth, healing, deliverance, wellness, faith and prosperity.

It is not God's plan that any should die from demonic curse, ignorance, spouse abuse, high-risk activ­ity, poisons, obesity, smoking, drug reactions, homicide, assault, malnutrition, sexually transmitted di­seases or suicide. As a behavioral counselor, you have many therapies, systems and modalities of treat­ment for atti­tudes that lead to some of these results.  This course, and the related client materials and pro­ducts, will now equip you to place information and ingredients into the hands of every client God sends your direction, for the complete and full renewal of life, from their DNA all the way to their manifested behavior and outlook on life itself.

This is not a medical course, nor does it contain any medical advice designed to teach you to make any medical diagnosis. Any person who comes to you for professional or spiritual advice and who ap­pears in need of medical diagnosis must be referred to a qualified medical professional or physician.  No informa­tion, material or teaching provided within the scope of this course is to ever be considered replace­ment for medical attention, if the apparent problem is a medical problem.  All treatment, suggest­ed nutrition, physi­cal therapy and nutritional supplements are always complementary to medical atten­tion, not a substitute.

There is significant power in your own testimony. You cannot lead someone to the Lordship of Jesus if you are not a subject of Christ's Lordship.  A believer's testimony of the power of God in one's own life contributes to the elevating of a counselee's level of faith and expectation. If the counselor has over­come an addiction, spouse abuse, smoking, obesity, or other degrading behaviors, the counselee is more apt to re­ceive the information.  Likewise, if you have a high level habit of proper or optimal temple maintenance in your own life, the listener will be more likely to follow you and receive from your example. Therefore, you must adopt the truths in this course before you can reasonably expect others to walk in their own victory. 

Assignments

This is a course of study to present you with an experiential increase of understanding of personal health at the DNA level.  It contains three books, two online tests (one of which is taken twice), monitoring your eating and exercise activity daily for 15 days and a personal experience assignment.  Please understand that the purpose of this course is to experience what you will be offering as counsel.  If you haven't done it, how can you teach and mentor it?

There is an exam at the completion of each book. Please open the envelope and complete the exam when you finish your study of each book, before advancing to the next book.  This will help you stay focused on the topics of the book to which that the exam relates. All of the questions are completion or narrative answers and in many cases the sentence is taken directly from the text. The questions are organized by chapters, which will aid you with the topic of the question. 

•I.        There is an online test you must take at the beginning of this course.  It is found at www.RealAge.com. Visit that website and go to the Real Age Test.  Follow the instructions and register yourself. Print out two copies of the report and send one of the copies to the home office along with your first exam. That will be when you complete the first book. 

All of the steps in this course are placed there with a specific purpose.  Please do not abort the scope and sequence of the course plan.

•II.      The first textbook is "What Your Doctor Doesn't Know About Nutritional Medicine May Be Killing You" by Dr. Ray D. Strand, M.D. a currently practicing physician as well as author of several books on wellness. As you progress through this book, we want you to consider yourself as the role model in the future coaching of others.  You will win them by the word of your testimony.

We believe you are taking this course of study to be better able to assist believers in raising their level of life experience: spirit, soul and body.  Most people react to physical ailments and discomfort far more quickly than to other behavioral or environmental influences. This book is written at the layman's level to explain clinical conditions and how to change or reverse them. You will refer to this book often as you begin to coach people regarding their temple maintenance.

During your study of this book, consider: "What if I didn't deprive my God-given body of the planned nutritional supply it was intended to receive?" Please study them in sequence, not beginning with the conclusion. The exam questions and statements are taken directly from each chapter of the book, in sequence.

The leadership of the N.C.C.C. has received coaching from Mr. Cherniske a number of times in person, which has convinced us that the material in this course is 21^st Century temple maintenance for a time when our society behaves just the opposite of God's plan for a long and prosperous life. Complete each exam found in the envelope as soon as you have completed the study of this book, and mail it to the home office for grading.  You will receive a copy of all of the correct answers along with your graded exam within two weeks.

•V.     The third book, MoneyWise Weight Loss, by Kimberly Floyd is a biblically based plan for renewing your body on a budget. Lots of money is not required to maintain your Temple. In fact most people will actually save money by eating properly. Obesity is the church's biggest disgrace.  Kimberly Floyd has fifteen years of health education and training experience through formal nursing training, as an R.N. for many years, and her research on the relation­ship between nutrition, physical activity, and chronic disease. She is now a weight manage­ment coach.  She lives in the Atlanta region and is a seminar presenter to many corporations and churches on the subject of Temple Maintenance.

This book will help you discover how you can affirm your physical value through habits that help you achieve your ideal weight, increase you energy level, renew your mind, conquer stress, look younger, feel better and save money.

If you are a credentialed minister of the N.C.C.C. you will be eligible to apply for a ministry charter from the National Conservative Christian Church for a Whole Life Renewal Center, Temple Maintenance Counseling Center or an Affinity Three Dimension Fellowship.  During this period of time, you will probably have had several conversations with home office staff.  We really do want you to be personally successful.

Upon satisfactory completion of this course of study and receiving passing grades on each of the three exams you will receive the recognition of "Certified Temple Maintenance Counselor" from the National Conservative Christian Church.  As a Temple Maintenance Counselor, you will be illuminating the connections between the physical, the mental, and the spiritual.
