Christian Ministry: A Fulfilling Career

3 John 2

Expanding Your View of Ministry

It often begins with an interest in volunteering for something at church.  Perhaps you saw a need going unmet and the Holy Spirit caused you to begin thinking that you could do that.  Maybe you have gone through many progressive steps, lots of training and academic achievement to the place you are today.  What is your current level of Christian impact?

What is your Christian impact in your town?  How many people in your county know your name and how you could assist them in overcoming something in their lives?  Who are the people that refer other people to you?  Do you have any relationship at all with a thousand people in your county?  Christian ministry is all about relationship.

Think about all of the people who know you.  If you lead a youth group on Wednesday evening, you may know the parents of a couple dozen kids.  If you teach a Sunday School class, you may know all of the people in that class fairly well.  If you are the music director, you may know all of the choir members and all of the orchestra members.  Count them.  If you are the pastor of an average sized church of 120, you may know half of them.  What is your relationship with them?

If you are the full time greeter at your local Wal-Mart, you will smile and greet thousands of people every week.  How many of them will you have a relationship with?  How many of those people will refer someone to you who desperately needs ministry this week?

Effective Christian ministry is about relationship.  Relationship with Jesus Christ and relationship with those who need to change something in their lives.

What could you do when you leave this website that would create a relationship with 365 people?  That’s one a day for the coming year until you can call me next year and tell me that you have established a “call ‘em on the phone” relationship with 365 people.  How would you go about influencing them toward Jesus Christ?

Just think about how many people would know you well enough to introduce you to someone else after you have done this for two years in a row!  That would be 720 people who have some of your business cards and a few brochures.  That would be 720 people who know where they could get some spiritual and behavioral answers to difficult challenges in their lives.  Would that change anything in your ministry?  Would that size ministry change anything in your life?

The key question is: “How do you acquire a relationship with that many people?”

The answer to that question is: “Expand your view of what ministry is.”

We don’t know what your ministry is right now, or even if you have any ministry.  Perhaps you are looking at this website seeking a place that can mentor you as a beginning minister of the gospel of Jesus Christ.  Our mentoring leadership may just be the connection you need.  We believe the Word of God tells us to be significantly influential for the Kingdom of God. The difference between successful and significant is the impact you have had upon the lives of other people between the first date and the second date on your headstone marker at the cemetery.

The National Conservative Christian Church has developed several ministry platforms or business models that expand the effectiveness of ministers who have some training in the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  The process begins with your understanding of Romans 12:2.  Do not be conformed to the systems of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.  In many cases, a person being urged by the Holy Spirit must enlarge their thinking about ministry.

From our seventeen years of experience at the N.C.C.C., credentialing and mentoring ministers, pastors, house church leaders, counselors, evangelists, chaplains and missionaries, we have seen many people with your level of education become highly significant in their towns, by applying specific development strategies to their ministries with all diligence.

The following list has been created from our mentoring of our N.C.C.C. credentialed ministers over a span of time. This is a list of ministry specialties the N.C.C.C. can credential and support.  You may have a heart for something further.  Click on the title that interest you to learn more.
