Callings of an Ordained Minister

Ordination, Ordained Minister, Youth, Become an Ordained MinisterOften churches and ministries are quite narrow in their view of what an ordained minister is or what clergy actually do.  There is a descriptive list of First Century ministries shown in Ephesians 4:7-16, which lays out in detail that there is a place for every gift and calling in the body of Christ.  What we know about people, however, is that some are more influential than others.  Therefore, the N.C.C.C. is looking for those believers who have a desire to increase their significance and do the work of leaders.

The Apostle Paul maps out in Romans 12:4-8 the need for every organ and body part to be functional in order to achieve God's purpose in and through the church.  Some parts have more influence than others, however he cautions us all in verse 3 "not to think more highly of ourselves than we ought to think; but to think so as to have sound judgment, as God has allotted to each a measure of faith."

He goes on to list seven specific gifts that God has given to the body of Christ that differ according to the grace given to each of us.  These gifts, referred to as motive gifts, show how there is a way for each person who is drawn to the Lord can be effective in his or her own unique way.  These are ministries that when functional change the life experience of people, families, neighborhoods, towns, counties, states and beyond.  Add to those the list that same apostle added in 1 Corinthians 12:28-30.

Now you will begin to see that the person standing at the pulpit on Sunday mornings is not the only ordained minister.  The Apostle Paul lead into this latter list of ministry gifts by beginning in verse 12 of this 12th chapter of 1 Corinthians and described body parts down through verse 27.  The National Conservative Christian Church believes the Word of God and believes there is a functional place within the church for all of those with any gift shown on these lists, when operative in their lives.  This is the ministry of Christ alive today in the 21st Century.

Therefore, you will find a variety of callings within the ministerial fellowship of the N.C.C.C., including those who are primarily identified as counselors, as house church leaders, as pastors of traditional churches, as bishops, as missionaries, as chaplains, as evangelists, as prophets, as apostolic leaders, as servant leaders, as spiritual teachers, as ministers of helps, as administration leaders, as preachers, as exhorters, and ministers of mercy.  We will help you and encourage you.  We will find whatever tools we can place at your disposal to assist you in achieving your God called purpose.

The ministry of Jesus is very fulfilling and rewarding.  Go where you are appreciated, not where you are tolerated.  You are designed to be a blessing to others.  Let us hold up your arms as you progress on toward your upward calling and the high mark of the likeness of Jesus in our world.

If you have training in specific activities and have grown up spiritually within a denomination or spiritual covering, we will honor and recognize that training and the doctrines that you may have adopted into your life.  Jesus Christ must however be central in your life and in the purpose of your ministry that you seek to have endorsed by our presbytery.

If your belief system is not centered the lordship of Jesus and have inculcated you're your life doctrines outside of the Bible, we will probably not be able to embrace you in leadership.  We will love you as a person, but will not endorse anyone whose ministry is not pointed primarily toward Christ or whose lifestyle does not line up with the Word of God.
